Red face Extension cable for Honda HU connectors?

I am trying to relocate my Head unit to a lower position on my dash. (Honda CR-V). The problem is that the stock cable is not long enough!!!

Is there some sort of extension I can buy, to add another feet or two? I am envisioning a cable going from male to female, with the exact same pinouts that the OEM Honda HU connector has.

If this does not exist, what are my options?! how are you all relocating your headunits to a lower spot in your dashes ?

you could always do it the old fashioned way, splice the cable to make more length.

They probably have it but I am not sure. There is a connector that plug in to the car harness for after market radio. This one is easy as every place has them. There is also a connector for using stock radio in different car. This one is a PITA to find. I know they have one for Toyota (86-90 cars). When you find the 2, connect 'em together to make an extension.

Your other option is go to junkyard and get/cut/chop the "To-HU" end from the same car or different Honda (if it the same as yours). Now buy the "to-Harness" end and connect them together.

Another option is cut your car harness and make the wire longer, but I am sure you dont' want to do that.

Thanks guys. Im trying to avoid cuttin the OEM harness. I think best option is to try to find the 2 connectors, and build an extension. (good luck with that LOL)

why you don't tap the cables???? so you don't need to cut.

go to a car audio shop and get an aftermarket harness (that will give you the one half of the extension for between 12-20 dollars) then go th honda and get a connector for you stock radio (most likely around $40) then just add all the wire you need to make it long enough no cutting
Aron

Edit: sorry Matrix didnt see your post good idea though

OK guys, as it turns out, they sell both ends (both connector types) in eBay. I bought two, and will build an extension cable

Total cost under $20.
