I Need help recording compatable CD's...

I have searched the forums, but I haven't seen this particular topic:
I am trying to copy my MP3 library onto CD's I can play in my car.
I have converted them to .WAV files, and even tried to leave them as MP3's,
but they will not play immediately. If you leave the CD in the player, it will start playing after a couple of minutes. If you want a different track, you have to FF to it, or let it play until it reaches it. Any attempt at changing tracks makes it pause for a long time before it plays again.

I have searched for a program that lets you choose the compression of the recording, as I feel it is too great to make the information recognizable on a car deck (it plays great on the computer) Any information or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,
83Mcguyer

Some CD players just don't play CD-R's well. Older ones especially. You may just have a deck that doesn't like them.

Couple of qustions before i can help you. what type of software are you using to burn your mp3 cd's? use roxio or nero
Are you also burning the cd with a toc(table of contents)? if not then it only burns the cd as one track instead of each individual track. Roxio and nero do it automatically. the toc burns in the begining of the cd and pretty much allocates the cd telling the player when each track begins.
Are you burning your cds as a data disc instead of a music disc?
Are you burning it with a pause between each track?

just a few things for you to check.

I'd burn using Nero or similar if possible and I nearly always burn at dual speed max if it is for a Car CD Player
