New stereo install - input please, Which amp should I get?

just bought some new stereo components, and need some input:

I have a Yukon denali 2005, with a stock HU, and factory Amp.

1. I bought two JL Audio TR650s, one CXI, and one CSI. The coax will go in the rear doors, the components in the front. Should I put the woofers/mids in the doors, and the tweeters where the "twiddlers" are in the a-pillars, or should I put them in the area next to the window, in the door?

2. I got some Infinity Kappa 62.5is for the D-pillars. What's the best way to mount? I am thinking about removing the stock twiddlers, and just put them in the same location.

3. What amp should I drive this with, and where do I put it? I installed my subwoofer amp (Kicker 350.2, driving my MB Quart sub) under the second row driver side seat. The second row passenger seat hosts my TVIX for my movies, and MP3s. Can I use the stock amp location, and just ensure that i have enough cooling (fan, whatever?)

4. I am thinking about completely removing the sstock amp, and control the system via my Pioneer DSP DEq. I realize I lose the chimes, and the volume control from the HU by removing it, but the DSP will pick up the volume control function. The chimes, I can delegate through an adapter.

All this class II data makes it so much more complicated to modify...

Input please.

Thanks in advance,

Anders

what ar eyou going for here? just plain loud or an accurate reproduction of a sound stage?

because that will make all the difference in the world....

making it loud you can just put them anywhere and it won't really matter

accurately reproducing a sound stage is going to be a lot more involved and is going to involve a lot more typing, but if that's what you are going for I'm sure we can all chime in on that

d-pillars? why do you need tweeters ALL the way back there!?

that's going to be something you are going to have to determine since it's your vehicle and only you know how you use your vehicle and where is and isn't safe to mount at

I am not going for max SPL, but more accuracy.

The stock setup includes "Twiddlers" in the rear, for the third row passengers, I assume.

The reason for the open ended questions is my search for advice. Your subjective input is appreciated.

Thanks,

Twidlers

tweeters, with a litle bit of base, not full range speakers... Check the GMC website out for a more detailed description.

interesting...hrmmm

so you just want to fill all the holes that were there from the factory then? any reason?

are you looking to compete by chance?

if not, i would tell you to just use factory mounting locations. if you are patient and are willing to do some fabrication and some cutting on your vehicles pannels, then you could look at other mounting locations.

so you have a total of 3 sets of speakers that you need to push then?

you could try to find a 6 channel amp or a 4 channel and then a 2 channel, or 3 two channel amps

how much money are you willing to spend?

Thanks,

I appreciate the reply.

No competition, just filling out the factory holes. The stock setup is using ten speakers. Two subs, two twiddlers in the A-pillars, and D-pillars, and one full-range per door.

I just wondered what amps are good, for the speakers I have.

The amps should be in line with the speaker quality. I have been contemplating a kicker 350.4 or a Kenwood KAC X541 or similar. I have been thinking about driving the rear twiddlers by the stock amp, and the a-pillar twiddlers too. If not, I'll go with two four channel amps, less real estate that way. I don't think it is worth it to me to spend the money on Memphis, Alpine, or similar. I was just looking at people's (more exposed to this equipment) opinion of my options.

it's not 'what amp is good for the speakers I have' so much as it's 'what amps are good'

stick with brand name, and remember that you get what you pay for.

generally, if you're wanting quality, I would stay away from kenwood. if you want quality you're looking at about a dollar a watt. Yes, you can get away cheaper, but rememebr I said quality here.

it's all in how much you want to spend, go witht eh kickers if you like them.
