Most people who do a ghost face re-location use the cat 5 cable because of the amount of wires it has in there and uses a cold-soldering iron, or a very precise point tip soldering iron and solder the wires from the HU itself to the faceplate.
As for ejecting the CD's with the faceplate being ghostfaced, it should pose no problem whatsoever. I'm not sure about the dual zone control though, check to see if it has the option of playing DVD's on external DVD players while playing music for the front zone, not many units have that capability.
Actually, I was making reference to the use of a direct Cat-5 connection between face and unit, similar to the Fosgate Symmetry units and such. I guess by your "What the hell are you talking about" comment that my assumption of connection types is incorrect. I did not realize this was a solder-in type deal. My bad.
