Carputer Audio???

Okay right now I am planning on putting a PS2 in my car along with a Lilliput Touchscreen monitor (629GL-70NP). What is the best way to wire the audio coming from the PS2 into the cars stereo system? Since I will be using the AV cables from the PS2, would I just splice the red and the white AV cables open and wire them to my cars audio system? Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

does your radio have RCA Aux in this would be the easiest? For video the PS2 can go directly to the lilli it has RCA jack(s) for the video as well as the VGA connector.

No, I am taking out the radio completely. All I will have is the wiring harness that plugs into the back of the radio.

Also, later on when I connect my car's speakers into my computer...how will I get Front L/R and Rear L/R? Here is that motherboard I will be using:

You would need something to drive your speakers (AMP). PS2 WILL NOT BE ABLE to power your speakers directly by splicing the wires. AMPs usually they take RCA inputs. In the case that you're going to add the PC into your car also, I would suggest this:

Integrated Solution

1. Get a RCA to 3.5mm jack stereo adaptor (Y shaped female RCA to male 3.5mm) and hook your PS2 to the LINE IN (blue) of your mother board.

2. Get a 3.5mm to RCA stereo (Y shaped male RCA to male 3.5mm) and hook your SPEAKER OUT (green) to your AMP.

3. To get Front L/R and Rear L/R is the same step as #2 but you would need to set up your sound on the mobo to support it. It might end up using the MIC or the LINE IN as the Rear L/R. In either case, use the unused port (MIC or LINE IN) as the input for your PS2. Or if you only have stereo out, you would need to get 2 Y RCA splitters for the 3.5mm to RCA stereo (Y shaped male RCA to male 3.5mm) and split the L and R into and connect into FL FR RL RR of your AMP. You would just end up with L and R but all four speakers would have output.

4. Get a TV Tuner card and hook up your PS2 to the VIDEO IN of the TV Tuner card and connect the mobo (Yellow SVideo or RCA) to the monitor.

This is the more complicated version of the setup. But you end up being able to control the output from the PC (display, volume, etc)

Splicing Solution

1. Get 2 Y RCA splitters (1 male to 2 female) and hook them up to your AMP

2. Hook up the PS2 to the L and R of the AMP.

3. Hook up the PC to the L and R of the AMP.

4. Get a Y RCA splitter (1 male to 2 female) and hook it up to the input of the monitor.

5. Hook up the PS2 to the monitor

6. Hook up the PC to the monitor

You're done. But only one can be powered on at a time.

Your main problem will just be sound depending on whether you get a 2 or 4 channel AMP.
