yes, resistance of a conductor will go up as it gets hotter
improve your ground.
most important (more than the wire) is the connection itself. make sure it is completely bare metal of the car, no paint. (you can use a dremel type tool to grind the paint off the spot if needed). grind off enough so that the whole surface of the ring terminal touches bare metal if possible. the best place would be the floor pan. some parts of the vehicle body are just poor ground spots, whats it attached to? also make sure you are using at least 8 gauge wire, preferably 4 gauge.
if this doesnt fix the problem. the only other things I can think of is the amp turn on lead or a defective amp.
