Question Car Equalizer / Hardware Volume controls

I am looking for a way to control the volume of my system. I don't want to use the software buttons and I want it all to be hardware. So I was thinkin of getting a equalizer or a pre-amp that mounts in the back and has a remote volume control in the front that I could mold in.

I am looking to controll 4 channels of speakers and 1 more for the subs.

Does anything come to mind ?

thanks

Watch here :

You can buy a DQS or DQXS with the DDC remote.
Surely it won't be cheap, but very expensive.

Yup, I bought this:
http://mobileaudiocontrol.com/produc...50&l1=5250&l2=

I haven't installed it yet but my friend said it will work great for controlling the sound in my car. You can switch between two sources of sound too. I am gonna hook my computer and PS2 into this thing.

Get something like a Griffin Powermate and configure that to control volume.
You can also hack apart a mouse with a scrollwheel, and use that as volume control, as well.

I want a normal knob nothing with lights and I think its too big. Plus the volume knob that I have I want it to be hardware controlled and not through software incase the computer locks up and the sound goes crazy. A software knob wouldn't work in this case.

That is only 2 channel but I like the concept I am rethinking how I want to do my mold maybe I can fit a similar unit in my dash.I need Input for Front / Rears mainly my amps have a pass-through for the sub so I could just use that. If you look at my car, I did a software volume control to hold me over for now but I would rather have hardware.

See the sixth item from the top. It's a RCA level volume knob. Should work great in your application.

That is only 2 channel though so I would need two volume knobs. So I am still looking thanks for the quick reply.

I kinda like that idea, seperate knobs for front and rear speakers.. would like an overall master one too though. Hopefully someone comes up with something like that last product but with 4 ch RCA in/out.

The discontinued Audio Control MVC does something like this; here's the owners manual:
