Crackling from tweeters

Hi, i am a newbie here so plz be nice

Ive recently installed my car pc and screen etc. I am running:
VIA EPIA M 10000 LVDS Motherboard and 256MB DIMM of PC3200 memory with 40Gb hd drive and slotload dvd/cdrw optical.

Problem- wen i play audio from the pc thru my stereo's aux in, i am getting crackling from my tweeters....this is only on certain songs, however on the songs it happens on, its bad!

- The tracks themselves are fine, this has been tested.
- I have tested the same problem tracks with winamp and windows media player and also using Mobile Impact, crackling happens with each.
- I have a ground loop isolator which has stopped the initial whining i experienced.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

Dave

Sounds like your signal going in to the Aux is a little too hot. Back off your Master volume on the sound card and see if that clears up the songs.

i just gave that a quick go m8, it did somthing but obv that makes the stereo work harder too....the quieter the pc volume is, the deeper the distortion sounds, whereas wen the master volume is up high the tweeters distort much more high pitch crackly like.

Could it be a drivers issue? or maybe even because im only using on board sound?

Cheers

Dave

dont use onboard audio! I have used it, and it sucks! GO with a PCI card or an external usb!
