Need help with a Ford Taurus 2002 stock stereo

Hi all,

I am new to the forum and am looking for some help re: my Ford Taurus 2002 stock stereo. Now - here's the thing. As you may or may not know, the heating control panel and the stock deck are all connected on these Fords and they are BUGGERS to get out. I took mine out but the heating no longer works, and it won't for now but I will figure out how to get that part working later. This is because this one big piece is one big circuit board so if you try to seperate the two pieces or simply remove the deck the heating will not work either.

We managed to actually get the heat working by trying to connect some wires together. Two of them turned on the heat before burning and blowing a fuse!

Anyways, we've got a whole junkload of wires running to behind where the deck was, and for now we just want to hook up the deck. Likely once we get that going we can figure out how to turn the heat on and off by connecting wires together...

there are so many wires, green, blue, red, grey, yellow, list goes on and we need to know which wires run from which stock speakers. Either that or we blow away the entire stock system and re-wire the whole car which would be aggravating and expensive.

Please, if anyone knows where I can get a wiring diagram please let me know. Thanks!

Bulldog

Bulldog will not work for me because it does not list the color wires for the stock speakers, or for that fact anything at all regarding the stereo.

Ok,

after much work and argument my friend and I have a new Pioneer deck installed with an aftermarket dash.

However, Install Dr. said not to cut the harnesses. We cut the harnesses and now have a problem. I now need a stock harness that we can re-solder the existing lines to and connect this to the new aftermarket heating system. We got some knobs for the new heating system from the scrapyard; and we tried getting the harnesses off an SHO along with other models to no avail. The harnesses do not match.

Also, the lines discussed on Install Dr. are incorrect, and it was of little help. I have been to my local Ford dealership twice looking for the harness, and to look at their wiring diagrams. Needless to say the Ford guys have been of no help.

I am now wondering - this is what I need: A stock wire harness for the heating system for a 2002 Taurus SEL. The next step for me is to contact Ford's headquarters - I went to Canadian Tire, too...

Looks cool but...

That looks like a cool product, but I don't see how it would work because..

> the ford wire harness has a small pin at the end of each wire that is very small. some of them are broken and out of the harness

>it is questionable if the harness would still work as its somewhat broken

>the wires that run to the harness, well some of them running from the harness are too short and/or missing the special pins

we tried going to crappy tire and buying a harness just to take the pins out of them but they are the wrong ones.

i need an actual new harness to solder the wiring to
