360 in my ride...
Just picked up the 360...I also bought the optional vga cable that allows you to use your LCD to get HD qualilty picture. I hooked it up to my converter box running into my screens, but I had an audio question...
I am using the USB SB live soundcard to run RCA's into my amps. How can I get audio from my xbox 360 into my amps. It has left and right rca audio cables attached to the vga cable.

You could get RCA to mini jack sound cord, plug it into your SB Live "Line in" port and then run the computer sound like you normally do... I'm not sure on your EXACT setup... but from what it sounds like that might work.

The computer is already connected through my soundcard to my amps....i needed to ALSO connect my 360...was wondering if there was a way to get to the amps without using an audio switcher...maybe like a y-cable?

You missed his point.
The console's audio would go into the soundcard's LINE IN.
That makes it just one more selectable audio source on the PC. So if you play the XBox, switcht hey audio over to LINE IN and enjoy.
However if you've got something else taking up that LINE IN (XM or something), you're going to need another solution... In that case, an audio switcher might be necessary.

Oh....im sorry, totally misunderstood what you said. I didn't even think about that. I guess I was thinking that the computer wouldn't have to be on for me to play xbox...but then again, it turns on with my car so it would always be on. I think my soundcard has an optical in also...this is going to be sweet

Wouldn't this cause lag for the sound if the computer is not fast enough?

putting the new xbox 360 in your car is super easy. because of the external power supply, all you need is a 12v car psu capable of pumping out a minimun of 250watts. The xbox 360 has 12v and 5v comming from the PSU. you just need to splice into the cable (there might have been an 18v but i cant remember) I spent all last night playing and didnt pay too much attention on how one could be wired. if you wanted to use an inverter on it you would need a 600watts continious (at least 1000watts max) inverter. and those are hella loud. i am having alot of problems with my modded xbox in my truck and I am thinking that a 360 might be a super easy fix.
