Combine stereo to mono

My setup is fairly basic, I have two fronts and two rears power by a 4ch amp, and a another mono amp driving a single sub.

Right now, I have the left output from my soundcard feeding into the left channels of the 4ch amp, and into the mono input of my sub amp.. of course, if there is bass on the right channel, I'm not hearing it.

The problem is, if I use a signal combiner circuit, it would strip the stereo, and sound terrible. =\

So basically, what I'm asking:

Is there a way to keep the stereo quality of the signal, but combine them to mono just before they enter my sub amplifier?

Thanks in advance.

Nah.. that'll short the left and right channels.. not good for my soundcard, and itll erase the stereo, giving me a very distorted mono signal. =\

There has to be someone here that knows the answer to this... I know I'm not the only person with 1 sub, yet it seems like everyone just accepts connecting their mono sub/amp to just the left or right channel... sure, it sounds right most the time.. but now and then, its just wrong.

Forget it! I decided to just get a different amp that combines channels! Poo and fiddlesticks to all your ideas!

Go visit the12volt.com. They have some simple diagrams on combining stereo to mono and vice versa without affecting seperation. (Diodes are your friend)
