anything that goes through FM modulation won't sound very good IMO. There are people out there who would never know the difference....however, SAT radio has all gone downhill recenetly in terms of SQ. My fiance and I both canceled our XM subs about 2 years ago because we got so fed up with it...

Sirius isn't that much better, if at all.

I just got Sirius last month (xact receiver that was $20 after $50 rebate). Sound quality from it and through the FM transmitter is about the same as normal FM radio. I've prepaid for a year because the programming is GREAT, and I'm in my car enough to justify the cost.

Recently got XM radio. Using line-in. Sound quality was not what I expected. I would say most channels are FM quality. I enjoy the commercial free part of XM. The radio stations around here are getting bad, I swear I hear more commercials than music.

hehe - so far, I haven't heard any radio station that I like, they've all turned into Clear Channel crap....lol

525.com is the only radio station I've found that I like...

sure, the programming is great on sirius and XM but I simply can't deal with the horrid quality, programming along doesn't justify SAT rad to me

You know Clear Channel owns part of XM radio.

Most all the radio stations around here got bought out by Clear Channel about a year ago.
