Center channel speakers?
Hey!
I'm starting to do some research on the few available center channel car speaker models, and I was wondering if any of you have tried any? Just curious to hear some reviews on different ones. Thanks!

Why does it have to be a special speaker for center channel? They make cruddy ones that fit behind the rear view mirror and even in a din slot, but do you want so much of your 5.1 coming from overpriced laptop speakers?
The "perfect design" is to have all 5 speakers identical with idential powering. This can be challenging dependent on the vehicle. Most of us have to mix and match.
In my case, I have a pair of MBQuart 6.5" coaxs from back in the day. One of the pair is blown. Looks like i have a great center channel speaker! The trick is fabricating the right enclosure.

I seem to remember there being quite a few posts about this topic - try searching for center channel or center speaker, etc in this forum...should come up with a few good threads...
or there's always the phantom center...

So it is possible to have two front, two rear, and then just "phantom" your center channel by letting it come out both front speakers, connect on that to a 4 channel amp, and have a 5.1 setup?
Just asking to make sure....

It's still a 4.1 setup, not true 5.1.
Mixing the center to front left and right is the best way to do it IMO.
