box enclosure

hey,
I think i am goin to get the Power Acoustik MOFO-15... instead of two 12"s. I've been searching for a box for this since i really don't want to make my own and can't find much, figured someone may know a good place just for boxes. i need it at like 3.4cuft @ 40hz and its gotta be ported...

I'm ONLY asking if anyone has good sites for box or places to buy box nothing else so please don't repond unless its about that... thanks.

Search at your local car audio shop, they may just have something that would work. You may not be able to get 3.4 cuft @ 40, but they probably have something similar that would work.

Or you could pay me to do it, but I am not cheap, and nither is shippng

My apologies if my post breaks your strict rules for this thread.

i built my box for my Resonant Engineering SX 12 for under 25 but my box was 36x 26 x 13.5 and im guessing ur box will be smaller but still its really cheap and you can figure out what you want to tune it at if u port it

you will save a TON by building your own box. Provided you have the tools or have a friend who is willing to help / lend the tools.

You could pay something like $200 for a box that's made by someone else (and it won't be made specificially for your subs), you could pay $50 by building your own (and have it made the right size for the subs you have).

Sooo.....don't be lazy

Thats the part most people tend to ignore...

I would venture to say, at the risk of being torn apart by everyone on this board (because I honestly could care less if you disagree), that their are a good number of people who are better off buying premade boxes. I dont really know cost offhand of premade boxes, but I know the last box I built, which had 2 pvc ports, cost about 66 dollars after carpet and all, and maybe 2-4 hours of work (I never keep track...), and that doesnt include the cost of tools, or the cost of a heated garage in the winter . True, the wood only cost 20 dollars (depending on where you live). But then add carpet, which is a cool 25 bucks for carpet + the spray adhesive, and then add the cost of what your time is worth to you. So I would say if he could get a box in the 100 dollar range, that it would be a good price. True, it wont custom fit his car, but most people use up their whole trunks anyway with subwoofers/amps, regardless if they have a prefab box or a custom one.

So just because everyone who has made their own box thinks its the greatest thing since sliced bread doesnt mean that they are correct . Dont you think if he had the tools, or a place to do the cutting, he would have done it himself already?

What the hell! You have a family business in cabinetry, and yet you cant get anyone to cut 6 freakin sides of a box for you? ****, it would be a waste for you to buy a prefab box... hell, I will even draw you up a box if you want, but this would be a breeze for cabinet makers (although cabinetry is supprisingly sloppy construction, just like furniture construction...)

Once you get your sub, just pm me and I can whip up a design.

And sorry, no use for a CNC, but damn, why didnt you bring this up earlier?
