Which would be better?

Would I be better off buying an AUX box for about $50-$70 or should I get an amp for the same price in order to hook up audio?

what's an AUX box, first off, i never heard of it. Is that an AUX in capable head unit?
Secondly, if you're getting an amp for 50-70, unless you're getting a great deal, it probably sucks. Most good deals for decent amps for speakers i've seen go for about 80-100 (4 channel...two channel is different and slightly cheaper). Spring a bit more and you should get some great stuff.
