sonic Impact 5066

hmm this little thing is awsome.. I have now tryed it for a day. and it just rocks sound .. thinking of building one in my carputer system. damn good sound.

and the cool thing is it runs on 12v.

This is the famous Sonic Impact 5066 battery-powered Class-T amplifier. The SI5066 list price is $39.95, but it is discounted to as low as $18.99 on the web. It has already sold out twice this year. If you Google "sonic Impact 5066" (include the quotation marks), you will get over 1,200 hits! Power rating is 15 watts/channel into 4 ohm speakers. It is reported to be weak in the deeper bass region (which is understandable and acceptable for such a unit). The Sonic Impact 5066 weighs only a couple of ounces without the 8 - AA batteries in it, although many people use it at home with a power supply - either a good "wall-wart" type or a higher quality "regulated" 12 volt power supply. It is a huge favorite of bargain hunters who love good sound. It is also extremely popular with tweakers and do-it-yourself modification hobbyists around the world.

Try it out guys its only $50 or 40euro. I don't know if it is anything we can use in the car. and some would not at all. I understand. I will try it anyways to se how it fits..

been there, done that. haha

problem being it doesn't have enough power to drive decent vol on a 4ohm load - tried a 2ohm parrallel - overheated

try a blaupunkt PA2150 or any other Tripath powered amp you can find... the blaupunkt sounds umm awe inspiring with both full range and subwoofers BUT 2 have died on me with less than a months use for no apparent reason - in the exact same fashion (they turned off abrupty during low to moderate vol music and continued to attempt to click back on over and over and over as long as they had power connected)
