Audison New LRX
In case you were wondering who is importing Audison now, it's Advanced Marketing in Irvine, CA (949) 251-1851. Advanced also imports all the brands that elletromedia has to offer (incase you don't know this elletromedia owns Audison) Hertz Hi-end speakers www.hertzaudiovideo.com , Connections by Audison there interconnects i.e. rca's power wire etc. www.audisonconnections.com and now Audison. Which by the way I seen and heard the new LRX's and they sound cleaner and louder, they said they added more power to them they launch in the US June 1st. Ohh and has anyone heard that the new Focal Amps are made in China (yuck). I don't know but if they are made in china and the audsion Lrx's are made in italy (which is what from what I heard are compared to price and performance I think I'll stick with the Audisons..

The last round about figure I heard for the dp was in the range of $3k.
However, you wouldn't have to drop the money on a processor....it's not a cheap option, not my any stretch of the imagination.
However, when compared to the VRx line from Audison, they aren't that far off (considering a typical VRx runs in the $2k ballpark).
I'm still waiting to hear about pricing on the rest of the lineup.
The deal is, this line isn't for the person who is on a budget. From what I've heard, they will be coming out with other lines, this is just a first. Much like Audison has various lines to meet certain price points, I believe so will Focal.
btw - Orca Designs, which is who was importing Audison, is no longer importing Audison.
No word on if another importer has picked them up or not.
Interesting times to say the least.

However, let us please not turn this into a this v. that brand thread.

The Focal amps from what i know are good.
I have only had it a few days but i sounds incredible (as expected) and completely destroyed even my high expectations.
i have a FP 4.75 running
2x 27 Lux bridged
and
a set of 130v1 for the fronts.
rear spekers are run off the deck
access 130ca1
The bass notes are all clean clear and accurate i have run the amp for 11 hours straight at about 60% volume (long drive from BC to Home)
the amp didn't come close to thermal. Could still touch the rails.
still don't get why a 4x75 watt amp needs 80amps of fusing though that should say somthin about the power this amp is really puttin out.
i think like everything focal they have stated specs below what the equipment is actually capable of.
Focal blew away my expectations needless to say

there's no doubt in my mind that these amps are severely under rated....which is just another piece of proof to me as to why you can't pay attention to any ratings....lol
just because they don't claim any amp to put out the power you need, you had better do the math yourself...
should have mine in a few weeks!
btw - ViperTech1 - where are you located and where did you get your amps from?

Sorry I didn't take any pics yet. It's one of those things that once you've seen it you see no reason to take pictures of it... until later when you return to this thread anyways.
I mounted one to our Focal board powering a set of K2P's. It took the place of an Audison VRX 4.300. The FP 4.75 sounded on-par with the Audison in terms of power output, although its rated at 35w less. It seemed to have tighter sounding bass, and the midrange was... crisper for the lack of a better term. I concluded it simply has better woofer control, although I think the DF specs are pretty close.
It sounded 'faster' on certain tracks. I put in a really snappy jazz CD, where several instruments make quick short blasts all at once. Its one of those tracks that can really set amps apart. The FP had enough power fast enough to make my eyes blink as the transients hit, just like they would at a live performance. It seemed that only amps over $1000 have enough capacitance and power supply oomph to accurately reproduce the sharp attack of some tracks, but the FP amp really did it for me.
The only place I noticed the Audison surpass the Focal was female vocal solo at high listening levels. The FP seemed to have more difficulty resisting breaking up as the volume was pushed, but I think I know why. The Audison VRX's have a no-clipping circuit that essentially eliminates all audible distortion by detecting it, and reducing the input gain until it's gone. Even so, the Audison just seemed to play louder, cleaner, when reduced to a narrow range of tones (ie female vocal solo). But it costs almost double and supposedly has quite a bit more power, so it's understandable.
I've ordered myself a Dual Monitor and I can't wait to have it blow me away.

www.incarentertainment.ca
and
www.epicdesigns.ca
Epic is my company running under the ICE umbrella... if you will.
We're in North Vancouver, BC. We're fortunate to be located in one of the richest areas in Canada, so there is no shortage of exotic rides and disposable incomes. We're the local dealer for Strut, Dub, Lexani, Davin, focal, exile, zapco, jvc, kenwood, audison wiring, and basically anything 'baller' related.
I'm one of two installers, yet somehow we output more high end work than any other store I've ever worked at. I've started doing complete interior upholstery, everyone wants full suede interiors these days.
This last weekend at SCN we were rewarded with 3 first place trophies. One was the 500SL on the ice website, one for the 'dually' which I posted in another thread, and my latest project, an escalade ext. I'll post pics of it soon.

it's funny how that works isn't it!
a good friend of ours (who both my husband and I worked with at different times), went to work for a little no name car audio shop. They were HUGE into the home audio stuff, real high end market there (B&W and the like). He got hired onto there with the understanding that he would bring the shop from the ground to a very respectable shop. turns out, he's now one of the top installers in the nation...and he's swamped with more work than he can imagine...previously, at the lower end, just install the radio and do a bit of custom fab work shops, it was a waiting game sometimes...lol
crazy to me just how many people out there actually do pay to have this stuff installed like crazy...heh
btw - will you be sending a vehicle to USACi or IASCA finals by chance? I know there were quite a few people from Canada at USACi this last year.
