google that b4 you trash the idea... someone did it somewhere. how about using a wired fm transmitter? theres a good one @ circuit city with a kill switch to totally isolate the signal.

A wired FM transmitter is not the same. The quality may be decent if it's hardwired like you're talking about, but nowhere near the quality of a true aux. in.

true, but it sounds to me like he kinda wants to keep his stock HU; im just giving ways to go about it... by the way the factory radios in subarus are horrible; along with the ****ty speakers and horrible engineering behind them. if you mount just about any aftermarket speaker in the front doors w/o a spacer I guarantee you hit the magnet with the window when its on its way down.
