Need more info. What is the RMS on each? Is the sub 2 ohm, 4 ohm, or 8 ohm? How many channels does the amp have? Is it bridgeable? If it is what is the RMS when bridged and at what ohm? You can get all that info off the box and/or manual.

It'll work as long as you keep your gains down, so that you are not making the sub overextend. Just because you CAN blow that sub with that amp, doesn't mean you HAVE TO. You've been warned.

well, you had better learn fast then if you don't know what he's talking about.
what's the ohm configuration?
what are the RMS ratings (not max, rather RMS - look for the word RMS and tell us what's next to it)

...and because the brands are raptor and legacy, divide those numbers by two...lol.

Sorry friend, but I have to say you have some very low end equipment. Do not get your hopes up and expect trouble down the road. The 2000 and 1200 watts that you had stated are not actual watts. They are HIGHLY over rated. Expect a couple hundred watts, keep the gains down and do NOT use any loud button or turn the bass above 0. Yes, it will be louder if you do, but you will blow them up.

If you ever asked around anywhere on any audio forum or at any audio shop, anybody will tell you that legacy = crap (along with pyle, etc.).
If you have a 2000 watt amp that is decent and you didn't pay over 500 bucks for it, it's probably a sucky amp...you would know if you had a good amp.
What are you trying to accomplish with your system? My advice is to take out everything audio related from you car, sell it all, and start over....but this time, be sure to ask for advice before buying the amps. If you do stick with that combo, don't ever show it to anyone.

Go down to your local audio shop (not best buy) and tell them what you want. They can help you. Ask lots of questions and try to learn something. Have them install it for you...otherwise start your research now and teach yourself everything you need to know about hooking up subs and amps. Start by figuring out what is crap and what isn't.

I'd recommend a 15" Brahma and an ED Nine.1 to power it.

You need to consider where hes coming from. A legacy system will sound eons better than his stock speakers. My very first install used a little 35wrms x 4 Pyramid amp driving two Fleamarket 8" subs and two front 4" fleamarket speakers. It might not have been the baddest sounding system around, but it was a leap and jump over the stock deck and speakers which I had previously.
Total cost to make my system sound about 3 times as good (subjectively, of course) was only 100$ canadian for new parts.
All of those speakers and the amp still work fine to this day (in my sister's car :P), and they're over 4 years old now... and you would not believe the torture I put that little amp through. It was non-bridgeable, but i bridged it. I grounded the negative terminal of the speakers to the chassis to eliminate my ground loop.. I overheated it, and beat that poor thing.. but it never missed a beat. They might not ooze quality, but they sure can kick stock in a heartbeat. :P
Its easy to jump on him for buying legacy, I'm tempted to myself.. but honestly, he will probably be pretty happy with that amp, even if its only putting out a quarter of its rated power.
I say install it, and then decide if its not enough for you. :P

It's like this....
Ur gonna lease a car...there are two options. We have a Saturn Vue and a Porsche Cayenne. You can either buy a brand new Vue or you could get a used Cayenne for the exact same price......which would you take?
Check the classified sections on any audio forum for constant good deals that will only go down with bargaining. While ebay prices are going up, the prices in the forums keep going down.
