Any heard anything of the JVC KD-HDR1

JVC KD-HDR1

Looks like a great package. HD Tuner already built in, no need for additional hardware. My Kenwood package just wasn't that great, and I haven't had much experience with JVC's. I was going to save for an Alpine system, but this looks like a great deal. Anybody have any experience with JVC's lately?

1. Alpine isn't as great as it used to be. Either that, or everyone else caught up.
2. Lower-end JVC's aren't all that great. Midrange and highend seem fine.
3. Unless you really want HD radio, spend the money on something better, like a Pioneer. I personally thing HD radio is a joke. Okay, sure, you'll get better signal as long as you're in range of an HD station, and listen to the crystal-clear quality of those advertisements!

Put your money in a Pioneer and spend the extra on either Sirius or XM.

If you're desperate for this radio (which I personally (opinion only)) see as a waste of time, go for it, you should be alright with it. Of course it depends on what you want, and what you're connecting it to.

Nothing beats Alpine. Their decks last years longer than any other manufacture. Also the quality of the buttons and the ergo puts panasonic to shame.

All my previous Alpine decks are still working today in other people's cars. All five of them.

I don't plan on ditching my Sirius service, but the HD feature is a nice little touch. It's not going to make or break my purchase decision. I was also looking at Alpine CDA-9856, CDA-9851, CDA-9853. They have similar features, nothing flashy, but should be good all around decks.
