First use the search function. You can find some good stuff....people dont like to spoon feed. Second try crutchfieldadvisor.com They tell you alot about what you need to know for a car stereo job. and thirdly, i suggest borrowing or buying "The Car Stereo Cookbook" by Mark Rumreich.

My few opinions.
1 if your not looking to kill yourself with bass, one 10" will be plenty (if coupled with a good box)
and 2
Maybe an all in one item would be a cost effective solution (ie amp, box, sub all in one)

good luck

check out elemental designs, they'll have package deals and it'll get you around 500 bucks.

another great sub to look into is the image dynamics subs. by far it's been the best sub that i have owned.

If it were my money going in to a Dodge...
I would go with a 10" Type R sub and MRD-M605 amp combo, and spend the remaining on the box and shipping (from www.onlinecarstereo.com)

With a little more I would get a 10" image dynamics IDQ, and a PPI DCX 300.2 amp.

If I recall your truck has very little room for subs and stuff, so you may want to check out JL audio. JL has "stealth" boxes wich fit Dodge trucks, then it's just a matter of powering it.

One more thing you should also include in your budget wires, if you keep a stock system chances are you'll need line converter (I think thats what they're called) to take the signal from the truck's speakers and into the amp, and unless you're installing this your self then you should also include labour. Keeping all that in mind you may find your choices that fit your budget limit themselves.

Good Luck, and don't buy crap...

Wires can cost a lot, also protection (fuses and fuse holders) are also something that should be kept in mind. They arent that expensive each...but can add up.

I also have a 2006 Dodge ram quad cab. i found this web site for sub boxes, TopEdgeOnline.com. the boxes are made to fit prefectly underneath the rear seats. they range from about $80 to $120. and as far as subs and amps go, I will always recommend JL audio, althought it might be a bit out of your price range.
