Sound hooked up, having USB and popping issues

I am running my sound card to the trunk of my car using a 15ft USB cable from the glovebox. I found out that I can't power my eq's signal if I am going through a hub on the end of that line, but it works if I am on the line directly. Since I can't explain much well, here is a diagram of sorts:

Working configuration:
Glovebox >>>> 15ft USB line >>>> Creative Labs Sound Blaster MP3+

Not working configuration:
Glovebox >>>> 15ft USB line >>>> Unpowered hub >>>> Creative Labs Sound Blaster MP3+

Does anyone have any suggestions? If a powered hub works, how should I power it?

Also I have an issue is the sound card and the amp with popping. I have my amp and eq running off of the ignition line that comes off of the M2-ATX so it is delayed so I am not supposed to have a pop. When I start the system, I do not get the pop. It is when the sound card cycles the driver or something when I boot into Windows. Is there any fix for this? Should I get a pulse relay delay and set it for like 45secs to let the sound card sort itself out before the amp powers on?

Thanks for the help. After months, I am so close!!

Uninstall the Sound Blaster MP3+ from the Device Manager. Power down. Plug soundcard in to the USB hub. Power up. Windows will load the drivers again. Think it has just gotten in to the habit of looking at a specific USB port for the device. If it is plugged in to another port, Windows will get ****ed off and does not run the device. I've noticed this with a few memory sticks, my external HDD, and my printer when I use them on my laptop. They have to be plugged it to the specific port in order to run. When I set up my CarPC for testing, everything is running through the USB hub from Day 1.

As far as your popping sound goes, here's what's up. The amp turns on. But then Windows initialized the sound card causing the pop. You need to delay the time that the amps are turned on until after the soundcard is initialized. Search the forums for the words amp and delay to set you on the right path. More than likely you will need to make use of a delayed timer relay.

Or you can ebay your soundblaster card and get a silverstone DAC. No popping, although it needs it's own USB port.

That's a $90 soundcard on eBay. He can accomplish the same results for ten bucks at RadioShack and he would still be able to run the device through a hub.

Derek

PS. I forgot to ask it the MP+ needs its own power input. If it does then a powered hub should not matter provided you are giving it the power that it requires. If it does not then the hub may not be supplying enough power to run the soundcard. Either try a different hub or supply power to either device.
