Assuming 100% efficiency, which that amp is NOWHERE near, probably 40-50% efficient, you're producing a MAX of 432W at 14.4V.

30 amps x 12 volts x 70% efficiency (that's being extremely generous on that amp if it's not a class D) = 252 watts per amp (not per side, but per amp)

no denying those numbers. There's no way you're getting 500 watts out of those amps, I even doubt that you would get 500 watts on a short burst.

and 100A fusing?

absolutely not doing a damn bit of good other than protecting the wire...but even then, it's not doing much good protecting a 4 gauge wire, you'd need around 2 gauge for a 100 amp fuse to be protecting the wire when we're talking about lengths in a car.

30 amps x 2 amplifiers = 60 amps of fusing. You shouldn't have much more than 60 amps of fusing on that power line. (again, that's if you're running 2 of those amplifiers)

By running a 100A fuse, you aren't protecting anything. HOWEVER, kudos on at least fusing the power wire!

and scott, you're right, I'm just rather annoyed at newbies that seriously think their **** is right yet when you crunch the numbers, it doesn't even come close to what they are claiming. I'm just tired of running into it over and over again. I know it's not this guys fault, I just wish more people would do a bit of research before purchasing things. Lost of money being blown down the drain.

30A x 12V = 360W... thats 180W per channel

i didnt say i was getting 500W from them amps... just sayin thats wa they say on there... i didnt say i was gettin 500w out of them...

and as for me avin cheap amps... i cant aford to spend 700 on a nice amp... and if i did i wouldnt have no windows left.. its only a little 306... i only want the amps to last for a while till i get the money to go powerfull..

you're assuming the amps are 100% efficient. Which is an incorrect assumption.
hence my accounting for it inmy post 70% is a rather generous number too.

that's fine, we were all there at one point in time. Buy you also don't have to spend $700 to get a good product. $200 would get you a nice amplifier! You're just falling into this thing where you see say, $100 for 500 watts, or $200 for 250 watts...if it were that simple I'd see why you made the choice you did, but it's not that simple, thus the reason I'm trying to tell you why it's not a good amp.

matched brands don't make a lick of difference in all reality.

in all honesty? I'm not the person to ask that.

I have my own standards that I have set for myself. I have held myself to those standards and it has gotten me a long way.
