scottsenia - it all depends on your equipment, making a blanket statement like 20 minutes max isn't an educated statement.

hahahahaha, it would now transpire that the smell coming from my subs, wasn't coming from my subs, it was the amp cooking itself from the inside, bummer

Figures; you shouldn't be able to smell a burning voice coil from inside a truly sealed box.

Are you saying sealed and unported? If so, I suppose, but if you mean ported (which I am presuming you do) I believe that is not correct. Even in my PC speaker system when I crank up my sub (200 RMS 10") I can smell it, but problem-free going on 3 years now.

Or the fact that the dustcap doesn't seal the inside of the coil off from in front of the dustcap

i'd try inverting them, but the problem is trying to hide them, there's a lot of theiving scum around here, and they're attracted to anything shiny and expensive lookin! they're only just hidden under where the rear deck is, if i flipped em over they would nearly touch the window, has anyone else used a directed mono amp before, this is the third time it has failed on me, and i was wondering if they had been troublesome for anyone else
