Sub problems still

Hi i had a post a while back about sub rattling. Now i got my new sub an Elemental design 13kv.2 and i still have the same problem. So my old sub was not blown, but im still stuck with this problem. Its not really a rattle. The sound coming from the sub is like when the bass hits, its not clean. Its like staggered. Im thinking its my amp now cause i replaced everything else. Could the crossover on my amp be messed up, its a rockford 2002 model. Had it for about 2 years now.

ok i started pushing against the sub and now i hear a squishy air sound coming from the sub. Probably around the rim of the sub. I used all 8 screws for the sub, and the rim itself is like a big gasket. Help please

RTV silicone to the rescue! You can either use RTV (DO NOT GET IT ON THE SURROUND) or you can get some thin weatherstripping from HD or Lowe's and stick it on the back of the basket.

If you are using very thick carpet, you could be experiencing a leak through the carpet itself.
Can you hear the air come out from all around the sub, or one particular spot?

Ok guys i figured out what is wrong, im using a rockford 2002 amp, 2 channels, i tried the sub with one channel, then the other, one of my channels is making it sound like crap. One is working good and sounds clean, the other is making the distorted bass. Is it time for a new amp?? or can this be fixed?

there is a guy on the pheonix gold forums that fixes amps. you could sing up there and see how much he'd charge to fix it. it may be worth while to just get a new amp though. Elemental Designs has some good amps that are relatively inexpensive.
