Amplifier - overheatig

I have a Magnat amplifier (http://www.car-sound.ro/The_Rock_800-p234.html) used to power 2 SAL speakers which have aprox. 50W rms, wired in paralel with 2 no name tweeters (+4.5 condensators) on 2 chanels and a Dibeisi subwoofer ( i have no ideea how many W it has..max. 150rms ~12inch diameter) in bridged mode.

It seems it doesnt like me very much as it overheats and turns off in aproximately 10-15 minutes of use. When i disconnect the subwoofer, things seem to be fine.

Does this happen because the speakers are too small for this amplifier? Or why?

I'd venture to bet that you're running the amp at too low of an ohm load.

What are your tweeters rated at? 4 ohms? 6 ohms? 8 ohms?

what are your subs rated at?

also, that amp isn't very powerful, so for you trying to power 2 subs and two tweeters off of it, you might be demanding too much of it.

The amp is supposed to be 110 rms / each channel. So i`m running 2 channels which are made up of a 50rms woofer + tweeter and one channel (2 channels bridged) of 250 W rms to power the Subwoofer.

They are all @ 4 ohms.

The wires used to power the amplifier are 8GA.

Could it be that the gain and bass eq are set to high?

possible - have you properly tuned your set up?

http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/Tutor...plifier_Tuning - follow this link if not.

all sounds to be ok...

I'd check for bad grounds, pinched wire, improper termination techniques, etc.

It seems you were right, after resetting the bass eq and the gain it doesnt power off anymore. However, it still gets kind of hot, possibly also due to the low quality speaker. Anyway, problem solved, thanks for your help!
