I have a pioneer AVIC-Z1 installed in my truck. It has AV input and some extra inputs that I can find. I am also running a programable tuner on the computer ran off a windows based program on a palm pilot. I have set it so that I can view the palm pilot's information through the head unit's monitor, but I don't know how to be able to use the touchscreen to control the palm pilot so that I can hide the PC and not have to use it while driving. I want to be able to control via the touchscreen. Included on this program is my EGT, boost, and tranny temp gauges. That is another reason I want to be able to change views. I won't have to install actuall gauges in the truck. Any ideas? Thanks...

impossible unless you have deep pockets...very very deeeeep pockets and even then it's iffy unless your pockets are deep enough to pursuade someone at pioneer.

So am I able to connect a full computer system to the avic-z1 unit?

I wanna be able to control the computer using mouse/keyboad, I just want to use the avic-z1 as a monitor screen (NOT TOUCH SCREEN). Thanks.

should be able to if it has an input. the dispaly quality will suffer but it'll work

thanks but im not that concerned about quality. I wanna be able to save space by doing this. (if possible) can anybody confirm it? i think the z1 needs to have VIDEO IN.

i know the z1 has video in, i'm not sure if you are allowed to view it while in motion though. that's what you have to find out

thanks again bro. i think I found something here.... im awaiting for some ppl to chime in. cause i think if you bypass the unit u can do anything as far as full functionality while driving.
