amp help

k have a rockford fosgate punch 100a2 amp trying to hook it up to a single 10" JL Audio sub. i have used these together on my last car, but its been a year ago and they have just sat in a closet since.

hooked everything up properly, using a multimeter i get 12v on the amp power and on the rem from the radio and on the amp side.

problem is, when on, the amp is not coming on all the time. the led light will come on sometimes, but even when it does, there is no sound to the amp'd speaker.

i opened the amp up to check things out and dont think anything looks bad. the closet thing is possibly one of the blue resistors kinda has small brown spots on it.

can anyone give me some advice without me having to trash the amp and replace? thanks all

Could be many things wrong, Start by taking it to a shop and having it tested. If it works check all connections, like the ground cable to start,(make sure the ground is touching bare metal. Not painted metal) then move on... also check the sub's terminals, I had a pair of subs sit for a year and the cable that come out of the cone to the terminals came loose. Had to resolder the wire.

this forum is dedicated to CarPCs.

for your problem I'd recomend hitting up a dedicated car Audio board. It's not that you won't find help here, it's that you're more likely to find it on a dedicated board and to find it much quicker.
