Question about speakers

ok ive been looking at components and this is just a real quick question. when you have a set of speakers for example: http://www.eclipse-web.com/component/sc8365.html

the RMS states its 105 watts. is that per speaker or for the set?

basically is each speaker 105 watts or 52.5 watts RMS??

Per set. A set is anything that is hooked to ONE crossover. Thus two sets makes a system.

you are making it very confusing....

it's not per set, but per channel. a set consists of two, so L+R; so that makes (for this example)105Wrms per speaker/channel, 210Wrms per set.

i can see where you're going and yes, a compo is a set (tweeter + mid, so that would make it a set) but it's better to speak about channel or speaker, because, what if someone cam up with this question about a sub?

Then I would say it is per driver. A component set consists of whatever hooks to its passive crossover. Two component sets make up a component system. You do understand that you can run more than one component set off of one channel on an amp, correct? Where does your explanation go there?

The rating is not per speaker. In this guy's case, there's 6 speakers. Midbass, midtweet, tweet x2

sorry, my mistake. indeed, with a compo, it's per set. I didn't look what his example was, so didn't notice it was a compo.
