Unhappy AUX input problems

Hi all,
I have an '01 Pathfinder stock radio (Clarion PN1710N) and have removed the cd changer (CE018) and put my monitor in that slot. I have wired the audio output from my mobo to the input for the changer.

The problem is now the head unit cycles right past the CD input. It goes from AM -> FM1 -> FM2 -> Tape (if tape is in HU) -> AM. There are 3 wires, TXD, RXD and REQ that run to TX, RX and REQ on the head unit, as shown in image below.

So I am guessing the head unit is looking for voltage or signal on these wires to know that it should use the input. Any suggestions on how to fool it into thinking there is still a CD player/changer there?

So close, yet so far...

Shadow,
I have searched but did not find one for my HU. I'll keep looking. If you happen to have a link, it would be appreciated!
[Edit]
I did find this one, but it doesn't specifically list Pathfinder, it lists Altima, Frontier, Maxima and Quest. Will call them Monday to see if it will work.

If you can't find an adapter, you're probably better off reconnecting the changer and hacking the cable to get the audio inputs from the cable. The HU needs to see some sort of data from the changer to enable that input..

Shadow,

I just went ahead and got a new head unit from Crutchfield and got a PAC steering wheel control adapter.

One what? SWC, AUX input module, or head unit?

It's the older model steering wheel controller interface, the SWIX.

No, I got the Sony CDX-GT805DX that had a jack for a remote and a PAC SWI-PS remote unit. Stock pics in my worklog. Finishing install today (I hope).

Guys,

I've just installed an Alpine CDA 9852RR so I can use the AUX channel as a feed from my laptop but the volume is fixed and even though the rotary knob changes the volume loudness number nothing happens. Any ideas??

The same happens on my Sony CDX-GT805DX. I am using the volume controls on the PC until I have time to RTFM and see if it can be controled from the head unit.

Solved the problem,

there is a tiny dip switch on the belly of the unit which has 2 settings either, norm or ai-net.

I changed it back to norm and the volume problem was fixed.
