What should I do with my non VGA flipout?
I had a flip out in my car and removed it since it wasn't compatible with the computer. It wasn't working 100% so I figured I'd return it to the store where they'll either repair it, replace it with a refurbished unit, or replace it with a new unit. And since headunits don't get refurbished most of the time, I'm guessing it's going to be replaced with a new one. And since they don't have that model in stock anymore, my guess is it'll be replaced with the newest version. It's the Panasonic VQ-CD7003U (or something close to that). So once I get it back, it'll be new in the box and I can either sell it or put it in the car somewhere and run video to it via RCA. But will the quality suck since it's not VGA? So here are my options:
Option 1:
Leave the box unopened and sell it. The only problem with this is I bought it for $1000 + tax + $40 for 5 year warranty. Now they have the newer model for about $800 so if I were to sell it, it'd be for about $700. And if I did that, I'd most likely buy some wheels for my car since I'm rocking hubs right now. Though I work a pretty good job so wheels will most likely be on my car next summer regardless. But extra cash would help speed it along.
Option 2:
Mount it somewhere in the front or the trunk and pop it out for shows, or simply when I want to play some PS2 while waiting for my girlfriend to get ready. But would the resolution be way too horrible to have it on for shows? Would it lose me points? Where would I mount it? I know NOTHING about fiberglassing so a huge glass project is not an option.
What would you do?
