Cracking and Engine sound
Hi,
I just install a CarPC with the following specification.
VIA EPIA MII 12000, 512MB, On Board Sound, 40GB Notebook HDD
Lilliput 7" InDash LCD with TV/Radio with 45watts Amp.
I have a simple setup Audio setup in my Toyota Harrier with no addition AMP install and uses the existing original speakers. Before the CarPC I had a Pioneer Radio with buildin AMP and I was happy with it. I replace the Pioneer Radio module and install the Lilliput 7" LCD with TV/Radio and install the CarPC under the front passenger seat. Installation was done by car assessories shop installer.
I notice that I am getting Car engine sound from the CarPC and also cracking/pop sound from the back right speaker. Also these cracking/pop sound seems to be only in certain songs, I guess it must be some frequency that is causing them.
I am pretty sure the installer use cheaper audio cable and also just tap power from the nearest source. My question is how do I approach these. I plan to bring it back to them and tell them what to do because this is most likely their first CarPC install.
1. Should I get them to get both the power to the Lilliput 7" LCD and CarPC straight from the Battery.
2. Can I use Cat. 6 cable for the stereo audio cable. If so can I solder them myself.
Would be great if I can get some great advice here.
Thanks
jackdon
