popping noise
ok, i know this question has probably been addressed all over the place, but since I was having problems finding answers related directly to this I figured i'd ask.
firstly, I have a EN12000EG
A Silverstone USB soundcard
and an M2-ATX PSU
as well as a VOOMPC enclosure
I am getting a popping noise in all audio coming out of my carputer, I know it is directly related to the carputer and not any amp because when I play the radio (not connected to the carputer) I do not get any sort of a popping noise.
this is a pretty regular popping / snapping noise, and being an audiophile (which is the reason I went for a 3.1V preout with the SS) it sounds absolutely terrible. I have seen other people who have changed things in the BIOS to elminate this but this isnt necessarily a viable option, seeing as how the bios on that mobo is really......dumb.
I also have already tried a temporary grounding of the outside chassis of the case, didnt help at all, but then again, it wasnt a permanent type of grounding, just me touching a bare wire to the case, and the other end of it to a ground.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated, because i've spent around 1400 or so on this system and I cant stand the sound it is making. So thanks again, and if you have any other questions about my system specifics go ahead and ask

I had this problem too..
What i found is that my power cables and audio out cables were too close together. The trick is to keep the Audio cables as far away from the power cables as possible.
What was causing it is the fact that currents running through cables can actually jump from one to the other (especially if there is thin insulation). So your problem might be that the cables are too close and the power is jumping to ur audio and screwing it up (NO u cant SEE it).. But yeh.. move them apart as far as possible. If they are apart, i dont know, but thats what was wrong with mine.

holy damn i hope thats not it, cause they are run together for a pretty way, and would be a ***** to move them apart. Though I wouldnt think that this would be it, because I did pay a little extra for some nicer cables

something I definetely didnt think about, I'll try it for sure
I'm also going to try changing some settings on the computer as well as changing an irq for a dac (dont know what it means yet but i intend to find out and do it, haha)
I'm gonna try all of these things out, and if those 3 things dont work, I might have to try what that other guy said an make sure the power and RCA cables arent run near each other, though of course I'm gonna try for an easier fix first

Power next to RCAs is a BAD thing regardless of the quality of wire. You need to do it right the first time when trouble shooting. Do you have alternator whine as well?

Its an IRQ issue for sure. Theres a couple DAC forums that go into the same thing. I've had the conflict and tested the DAC w/ the laptop (bringing the laptop to the truck) and it totally went away and actually sounded alot better. I changed a couple things at one time, so can't pinpoint it. A couple things that worked for others was changing the PCI slot (most of us dont have that option), Changing the PCI latency, changing your display properties to 16bit. I'll look for the writeup later today. We need to keep this topic hot for a definitive fix for the issue. Anyone wants to start changing IRQ's (Arghh)?

i'm good and ready to start changing stuff in the bios, as long as it dosn't fry anything. I recently installed all the completely up to date drivers, and it actually fixed a lot of the popping, but it is still there, and i know i can make it even better so i'm definetely still going to work on this
I've plugged my earphones into the dac to check if the popping was still there, it is, so the popping definetely isnt related to the rca cables being run with the power cables
