Motherboard to Amplifier
I can't seem to find specifics and I'm not sure if it's a concern or not. Before I go and purchase the Audison LRX 6SR, I thought I better confirm that the line out voltage from the (LV 675D) motherboard's 1/8" jacks will be high enough to suit the minimum input levels for that amp.
Is there a "normal" voltage level comes from the MB's 1/8" jacks?
Will the system suffer considerably (line loss) by running these 6 RCA cables from the glovebox (PC) to the hatch area (amplifier)?

.5 v is the norm
and no, it's absolutely, positively, without a doubt, not high enough if you care at all about sound quality.
That's why many of us are running processors and/or dacs or various other options.

You could of course, consider a line voltage driver which would take the signal and amplify the signal considerably. I know that Farenheit makes a few. Boss also has one floating around. Just another option.

Thanks Red, I kind of figured as much but couldn't find the exact numers. If I were to go the Silverstone route I'd only have a single pair of RCA's out. If I read the sites PDF manual correctly, the amp requires the 6 RCA inputs and not just the stereo pair. So, 5.1 would be out of the question using that DAC. Input requirements state between 0.2-5VRMS. Are the line voltage drivers a good option to go with? Would that mean I would need 6 of them?
It seems the optical input 5.1 amp concept is the optimum choice. Just wish I didn't get screwed over by millionbuy.com for my ICBM5.1 when they failed to send the IR remoting apparatus. Without the remoting equipment it's completely useless.
*edit*
I imagine one of the best ways to get around this with the Audison amp is to get the Audiobahn ADD51T ....right? If so, I don't necessarily have to mount it by the dash do I? My 2 DIN is accupied by the TS display. I could mount it right beside the amp too?

if you're using that amp, putting anything as poor quality as Audiobahn is a shame.
Look at an audiocontrol.
the other things about the line driver, you signal will suffer as well that way.

personally i'd wait to figure out your high end 5.1 solution. i'd probably get a decent 5.1 soundcard and just sit tight until someone makes a spdif or usb dolby digital decoder and do it right then. i'm pretty sure the maya 7.1 cards are decent.
possibly these too:

or maybe look into this:

I never heard of Audiocontrol til now. There's so much there although it appears that the majority is based on integrating with a HU - which I won't have.

I'm not sure which particular route on that page would suit going from the onboard soundcard to the amp.

i had an audiocontrol x-over/linedriver (24xs) and it is a great piece of hardware. just adding the x-over inline with my setup was a major improvement w/o any tweaks.
you'd only need the 6 chan line driver at the very least, if you were going that route of boosting the signal... but i'd try w/o the line driver at first and see how you like it.

i've always wondered if you could hack one of these:
http://us.creative.com/products/prod...0&nav=features
and get a preamp signal from the 'brain' of the system.

It sounds like I'd have to add component after component after component, which can translate into big $$. Are there no options of simply running an optical line to a component just prior to the Audison amp? At least the line loss issue or low sound card voltage won't be a factor. Not to mention one line run from front of car to rear and not 6.
Is the ADD51T that poor of quality that it will take away from the quality of the Audison amp.

both amps are activatied though power delay switch to avoid pop

Yes. I'm surprised. Spend all that time and money to research amplifiers and speakers, then nothing to research the processor? Audiobahn is regarded as the biggest knock off in the industry. They never come up with their own ideas, they always mock other companies top selling items, they hardly put any research into their own products, they use incredibly cheap parts and are built the same way.
See my sticky at the top of this forum for processors. Those are your options.
