my external sound card is a sound blaster live! and yes it has very low voltage outputs. Thats the probable reason it never clips

That should be fine, tho, so long as you're getting a clean signal to the 360. I'd look at software filters for TA...that, and if you ever wanna get rid of that extigy (still got it?) lemme know.

well i found where my noise was coming from. It was coming from the xmd-1000 that had hooked up to the AUX in on the 3sixty. I unplug the rcas coming from that to the 360 and the noise goes away. Now what can i do to mitigate the noise coming from that unit? Its in the front of my car while the 3sixty is in the rear. I'm using monster (overrated i know) rcas from the XMD back to the 3sixty. The rca cables do have a ground cable that i dont have hooked up. Should i ground that point? After i removed the AUX rca's i was able to successfully set my pots as per the instructions on the 3sixty software and it does sound noticibly better.

Well, I wouldn't dream of putting one of those cheap noise filters on RCA out of a CD player, etc...but hey, it's really not gonna effect the sound quality of XM (low-bitrate music)...you could probably take care of the issue on the cheap if it's just a ground loop thru the RCA to the XM (after, of course, making sure ground on the XM unit is robust...try taking it out to a seat belt bolt or other location in the floor pan).

To those who use the 3sixty.2 and windows software: How long is it taking for the individual EQ adjustments to be recieved by the 360 via bluetooth. Also how long does it take for the knob to swith from sub vol to master vol when you press that button on your touchscreen. I was going to use a preamp to control volumes but if its only a couple second delay, then I would use this only and that would be SWEEEEEEET! Looking to order one ASAP so if you know, please reply or I will be forced to bump the ***** out of this post. LOL. Thanks.

the adjustment on the eq are pretty quick, there is a slight delay but nothing bad. The switch between volume and sub is instant, but keep in mind when you switch to sub from volume the current volume level will go to full and the sub volume will set to the level on the knob. When you switch from sub to volume, the sub level will go to the sub output slider level in the sofware and the volume will be set to the knob's level.

Thanks man, that helps with the decision a lot. It kind of sucks that it maxes it when you switch. Do you think it would be a bad idea to do a half din preamp (high quality of course) to control master vol and sub vol -OR- just leave the 360's knob to sub vol and use winamp volume control thru roadrunner? It will definately be more complicated adding the preamp, but I have also heard that kmixer and windows volume control is crap. The question is which is worse?? Anyone feel free to chime in on this! Thanks

Leaving the knob to sub control and using windows volume control works well. I would do that first before trying a half din pre-amp. I personally have it set to volume and adjust the sub volume using the 3sixty software. If you want to bypass windows vol control, you can set windows volume to max and then just use the 3sixty knob to control volume. I believe you'll get edit:better quality this way. Then you can just control the sub volume using the 3sixty software.

I thought about that too, but on an 8" screen is it usable while driving? I think it might work fine. If only someone would figure how to skin it and integrate it in a front end it would be the ultimate. (Cept for you extreme sq guys with your alpine f1's and such you crazy bunch of *******) lol

use rezchanger to create shortcuts to two versions of screen resolution for the 3sixty. At 800x600 you will be able to fit all the important non eq function on the screen. it should look like this:

then the second shortcut should be to a full screen resolutions so yo can access all functions.
