On a 2 channel amp that I plan on bridging, do I need BOTH rca ins?

I have 2 of the same amp that I want to use for the fronts. I also have 2 sets of components going up front.

The amp is 80w x2 @ 4ohm
110w x2 @ 2ohm
or 220w x1 @ 2ohm. Both sets of components are good for over 120watts, so this is what im planning on doing

Amp #1 will control the left speakers, I will feed it a left channel input and then bridge both left speakers to give me a 2ohm load, and then itll give it 110w each. Rather than wire all 4 speakers off 1 amp I would only get 55w each (where only using 2 would be 80w) so I dont want that.

Basically my question is: if I have a left and right rca, can I put the left one into one amp and not need another connection? Meaning left rca will go to 1 amp and the right rca will go to the other amp. Can I just leave the other rca open or does it need it to be able to "merge" the left and right to give it a bridged output? Its a 2 channel amp is the only reason im asking, I know its fine on a mono amp with 2rca inputs and only using 1.

don't you mean 220w x1 @ 4Ohm, 'cause if it would be @ 2Ohm, the amp should be handeling 1Ohm stereo without any trouble.... and since I don't see any ratings at 1Ohm....

Yeah I suppose I do, damnit, now I cant do it that way. So it wont handle a 2ohm load bridged then eh. Box says 220 x1 @ 4ohm

So it seems the best I can do with these amps is 80w rms into a 4ohm load If it were to be an 8ohm load (series) bridged, would that basically be 110w then? Same as 2ohm x2, ****ty deal, how am I gonna do this with 2 components up front and 2 amps? Just the 80w rms?

yes it certainly is, so what im doing is wiring up each front speaker to its own amp. Ill run them at 220w each. Adjust the gains to keep it level/balanced I suppose

how so? you mean balancing left and right? ill set the gains to the same amount. Same amps and same speakers. Its pretty much gonna be set the same on both amps. I have 5 amps powering my system. 4 components up front, 6x9's for fill and 12" type R

You're running two sets of components for your front stage, you're running rear fill and you're using 5 amps.

There's a WHOLE lot that goes against SQ in that setup.

Not if it gets tuned right. It would be different if it were a simple deck. Rear fill is minor, its just to get that "behind you sound" that I like better than just a simple component set. 2 components because the mbq's lack low-mid, and the excursion speakers are good for that. 2 tweeters and full headroom. tweet up high and mid, and the woofers lower. There are things I can do to clean it up if need be, but its gonna sound good. High quality stuff

Yikes.....

I would not bridge those amps with your mids/highs. To much distortion, especially at 2ohm mono.... IF it doesn't kill your amps.

If you must use 2 sets of components give each one it's own unbridged 4 ohm channel.

I'd keep one set as midrange/high, and try to enclose another has mid bass. Ditch the second tweeter. MBQs are notoriously bright.

And yes, you need to have both RCA inputs connected.
