Piping audio to DSP via S/PDIF

Hi,

I have a Roadie usb soundcard which is connected via a s/pdif cable (optical) to a DSP. I have verified that the Roadie is producing sound (by listening to it via the headphones) and have checked that the DSP produces sound -- by running a speaker test from it. However, when I try to play sound from the roadie software, mp3s, and/or dvd's I am getting no sound. The DSP says it can decode PCM, DTS, DD, and Pro-logic. However, no matter what I play -- the DSP doesn't register seeing any of the above (it has pretty lights that illuminate what it's decoding).

So, I am requesting help in figuring out how to get the sounds from my computer to play out of my DSP. Hopefully, this won't require going analog to accomplish it.

I would really appreciate any hints.

Nasa

btw: I did do the search thing.... Maybe I suck at it???
