Exclamation Eclipse avn7000 in Audi a4

Whats up guys. First off i want to say this site is pretty sick, you guys sure know what you are doing. I just want to ask a question though about my audi.

I have a bose symphony installed. its 5 years old i want to add subs and a lcd deck. i am able to get this one
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Eclip...oductDetail.do

i have ordered this: http://www.autotoys.com/x/cust/produ...=2466#reviews1

along with this: http://www.autotoys.com/x/cust/produ...=1470#reviews1

before i proceed i want to make sure this is going to work. a friend of mine who works in car audio said it should but i would rather ask the experts.

what do you think. am i wasting my time or do i need something else to make this work?

Sounds like the harness should work. Says something about large vs small preamp pins on the harness plug.

I don't think that dash kit will fit. The A4 dash changed in 2001. What year is your car?

This may help a little:

For my 2001 S4 I need a specific dash kit. I talk about it in my thread.

Do you have a picture of your head unit?

Is it a single DIN or double DIN head unit?

As far as I know the Metra kit I list in my work log is the only one that will fit perfectly.

Yup, it comes as multiple pieces. That way you can install a double DIN head unit, or single DIN head unit and cubby hole.

Installer.com and AudioOutfitter.com were the only two places I found that sold that particular dash kit.

In my Jetta I ran the wires through the dash and then under the door sills to the trunk. In the Audi S4 I have not done the install yet.

If you buy a Haynes or Bentley manual it explains how to take the interior panels apart.

Thanks for all of your help so far... are you sure i need a mu;tiple din dash kit. i am only installing a single din deck? the guy at circuitcity said it should be fine... so i am just wondering
