Subwoofer broken?
Hi I was playing around and experimenting with my subwoofers. I removed the magnet from the back and when I went to put it back on it will not let the speaker slide. Is there any way to fix this or is it ruined?

Moved to Car Audio.
I'm no expert, but it certainly sounds either broken or not reassembled properly...

If you remove the magnet you throw off the magnetic field that the vc is suspended in. I don't thing you can just put it back on and have it pop back into place. In my experience magnets don't just come off speakers. I'm guessing you could have a shop repair it but it could be fubared.

yeah, you have to line the magnets perfect otherwise it will throw the coils off and may end up scratchin them a recone wont help a new motor and recone will, so in otherwords you need a new sub

The VC is not suspended in the magnetic field. It is the spider that keeps the VC centered.
The reason why the VC is rubbing with the magnet assembly is because the magnet was installed off center. It has to be precise else it'll bump onto the edge of the VC and "fold" the edge.

^ i love your Z's! G'luck with your G. I'm workin on my 240 right now, finished working on my cousin's 04 G coupe w/ a 10.4" widescreen laptop CarPuter, had to pretty much modify the whole dash. It was an interesting experience, cut the radio apart, relocate the HVAC controls, etc etc. One of my good friends had a 94 TT ZX putting 480~ WHP and a lil under 450ft/lbs, Veilside kit, totalled though. The kid was an idiot, but then a year and a half ago or so he picked up a 92 ZX, N/A 55,000 miles on it, mint condition Pearl Blue. Those are funnnnn cars.
