Sirius AUX in Connection to BMW e46 - line failing

I installed the AUX line to my stock BMW E46 radio and have not had any problems for the past year with my IPOD. I just bought a Sirius plug and play and connected it to my AUX line and after a few minutes of play, the connection fails. I tested the line with my Ipod and it ran for an hour with no problem. I plugged the Sirius back in and it killed the line. I checked with some electronics stores and they couldn't give me an answer without a $100 assessment. A BMW forum poster said I needed a crossover cable by Radio Shack had no idea what I was talking about. Anyone know what part I can use to fix this?

Thanks,
Mark
