(my power supply is the m2-atx and i arleady use the remote turn on of the m2 for my amp,i didn't have any turn on thump with the nx but with the live 24bit the thump is extremely loud and annoying).thank you.
Its not the card itself causing the thump. Its caused because your amps are turning on before the soundcard is. When the soundcard does finally turn on, its powering up causes the thump. I dont know what Power Supply you have but mine has a delay timer that turns the PC on, then the amps a few seconds later, eliminating the thump.
PS: I have a Sound Blaster Live 24 bit. My old CarPC had the thump even with the delay on because it took so long to activate the USB devices. My new system does it diffrently.

I use the live 24 and this fix worked for me. You've probably already seen it though.

Its cool, I found it through the search. but this only works through the hibernation and stand by, what if i am starting from cold boot? I also found ampctrl, but on a UK site, it seems to have filled in missing documentation that the software creator left out. I think this is the better solution for me, but thats only if i can get it to work. i have 3 amps in my car, and my first CarPC install really suffured from pops.

Ok, I have tried over and over to install it, but it will not let me do it. I think its because of the DOS version I have (DOS 5)
PS: Nevermind, I have the software installed. The instructions are terrible. I just have to test it on my amps now.

I drive 2 amps with no problem. By having the ampctrl program in the startup directory (did I not mention that), it works for cold start, then hibernate trigger and that kill command works for hibernation, shutdown, and standby.
And you are right.....that's how I figured out the batch files and all that other junk.....by trying it on my amps. Good luck!
