Had sound in the house... put in the truck and no more?
Like the title says, I could get sound from my carputer while i tested it in the house, but once I installed it into my truck, I don't get any sound at all from the PC. It's not the connection to my headunit because I don't even get sound when I plug headphones into the back of the PC. Anyone have any ideas?

did you look at the settings of your card to see if they were correct, after installing it in the trunk?

Did you make sure you plugged it into the green slot!
Even though I don't see a relation between the following suggestions and moving the PC, it doesn't hurt to try. Just make sure it is not muted. Make sure that the default audio out device is set and not "Not Available". Maybe a failed shutdown before you left the house made xp revert back to previous settings before the drivers were installed.
Basically check the normal stuff. Then we will go from there.

Thanks guys. I think I configured my power settings wrong on my OPUS so my truck battery's drained right now. Hooked it up to the charger so I'll give it a go in the morning and let y'all know what happened.

ok well i updated my audio driver, but for some wild reason the windows volume control has disappeared from my computer. It's the one that you find under Start>all programs>accessories>>entertainment. Any idea what caused this to happen? And how can I get this file back?

oh and now that I think about it, I removed the front audio output jack on my case when i installed the computer in the truck. Would that have anything to do with why I'm notgetting any sound from my PC? I've checked all the settings and made sure the onboard sound is enabled as the default sound device. I'm just getting absolutely nothing out of the speakers for any type of audio, mp3, mpeg, wma, avi, etc. etc.

c:\Windows\System32\sndvol32.exe
or
start-->settings-->control panel-->Sound and Audio Devices-->Advanced Button

Well I solved my problem! It appears the sound output on my motherboard was fried why my M2-ATX decided to fry itself out too. I hooked up the front sound output on my case to the motherboard and I got wonderful sound from it! Another great reason to avoid the M2-ATX like the plague!

glad you got it working. ANd be glad it only took out your onboard sound! My M2 is still functional, but when they go, they take whatever they can find with it too!
