Audigy 2 NX - No subwoofer control

Hi all,
I am done with my car pc and setting up the audio now but am having major issues with my choice of soundcard. I have an Audigy 2 NX and am using the outputs to send audio to my Audison SRX5 amp, which are powering Hertz comps in the front, Hertx coax in the rear and a Hertz sub in a ported box. First thing i noticed is that the audigy doesnt give me any sub woofer control. I am sliding the sub woofer slider back and forth but no change in the sub.

I am using headphone to rca cables on the audigy and then Audison interconnects to the amp. I know i have connected the sub outout to the amp and not the center as some songs get the sub really going and most dont.

Please suggest what i should try.

thanks.

First are you at least getting output to the sub? IF you are, are you sure its the sub channels and nto the center channel?

I have posted this several times for others on the creative cards let me see if I can track it down

Turn on "bass redirection". then you should be fine.

Hi,
I did turn on redirection but i dont see the sliders having any effect on the sound. I know i have the right channel connected as with some songs i do get the sub thumping.
I will re check.

Just a thought, do i need a line driver ? I think the Audigy does put out 2v am i right ?

cheers.

Yes the output voltage should be plenty on the audigy (i think you are correct about 2V)

Did you read part 4 of my other post? Try adjusting the volume slider for the sub and center to make sure you only have the sub output.

Also, do you have another LPF crossover on you amp that might be turned on by accident?

Ok the problem was that i hadnt installed the software from the CD but downloaded the drivers from the site. I figured all the important bits will be in the package, i was wrong. The surround mixer was not a part of the download and now that i installed from the CD, the surround mixer works . I am able to move the sub slider and actually feel the subreacting.

I guess now i will have to get the gain reset again based on the ability of the slider.

A big issue i noticed was that the crossover frequency doesnt give an indication of the value. You have to do a lot of trial and error before you get the desired effect.
