Adding a changer to a VW Golf..

Hi, My car pc is in and working..
I now have a redundunt sony 10cd changer..

Anybody know if the golfs still use sony head units?
I know they used to (my transporter had one) but my girl friends now has a 'built in' stereo. ie, its a funny shape.
its a 2002 and the unit is a radio/tape and then a single disk cd above it but it does have changer control.
Just wondered if anybody knew before i started trying to take it out.

If i need to buy anything extra to work i will probably just get her an ipod adaptor so she can use that instede as she scratches my cd's more than she scratches my back
