Angry Astra 88 & CDX-S2250

My other half has a J reg Astra (which I beleive is the 88-91 model), and I recently got her a Sony CDX-S2250.

The sony came with the ISO blocks, and I wired it ok, but the problem we seem to have, is that the memory erases each time the keys are taken out.

The aerial goes up and down perfectly, no problems with tuning or playing MP3/CD's. The only problem is this memory thing.

Anyone know how I can fix this?

You wired the HU into the ignition power wire, and not a constant power wire. The HU needs to be "ON" all the time. The screen and drive will shut down, but all radios with memory need to be on all the time. If you take the battery off your cell phone, and the backup battery too, and wait for the charge to go away (3 seconds ish) and put it together, voila. You have erased your phone.

Same deal here. The ignition wire is only supplying power when the car is on or in the acc position. You need to wire it to a constant supply so it is on all the time, but the screen goes on only when the car is on.

I would bet on it.

Cheers for the answer.

However the ISO block came premade, all I had to do was plug them in.

So how would I go about fixing it?
