Help selecting replacement subs....

Okay, well I had a couple of older jl 8w6 (3 to be exact) up in my attic sealed up and stored and the wife was beating me up regarding adding some low end to her car. I decided to read up and try my hand at a customer fiberglass enclosure. I designed it around the specs of the 3 8w6's and it came out great. Unfortunately, when I had the speakers sitting in the living room floor just about to be placed in the enclosure, my 6 year old step son decided to "adjust" the foam surrounds on one of them almost completely. I know there are re-foam and re-edge kits, but I understand it changes the characteristics of the speaker. I have been trying to read up on what a really good reasonably priced replacement would be but I have been out of the "game" for a while. The jl 8w3 v3 are almost exact specs in terms of displacement and airspace requirements. I have heard a lot of people like the image dynamics speakers. A couple have suggested trying the MB quart rwe-202 or 204s. What to you pros on here suggest?

Those are both good choices. I don't think you could wrong with either one. Sorry I can't offer more assistance. Subs are more of a personal preference. You are looking in the right direction.
