Kenwood Auxiliary Input Adapter
I have a Kenwood KDC-315s head unit in my toyota tacoma pickup. I'm looking for a simple solution to connect my ipod to the unit. The head unit supports a cd changer, and according to the user manual there is a disc changer control input.
I'm planning on buying the following input adapter from crutchfield when it becomes available. Is this the cable I need to connect my ipod to the head unit? Is there anything else I will need for this?

Welcome, but this site is about CAR COMPUTERS, and not IPOD integration in OEM situations.
Your best bet to is GOOGLE and perhaps a kenwood or car audio specific forum.

Nope, sounds like you got the right parts. You may want to invest in a lighter plug power adapter for your Ipod if you're going to be playing it in your car for long hauls.

Are you using a changer or sat radio module with the unit? If not, that piece is all you need. If so, there is an additional piece available to let you maintain your other input devices and create the aux in, or you could tap the analog feeds in your existing controller cable (the two larger, grey, shielded cables amidst all the other smaller wires within the changer cable sheath, tap the two positives and wire together the negatives for a common ground) and solder in a mini-jack headphone input switch, available at radioshack for a couple of bucks.

Yeah I plan on purchasing a lighter adapter to keep it charged. Thanks for the input.

Yeah, MP3Car.com has absolutely NOTHING to do with putting MP3 players in cars. AT ALL.
