Way to connect to power antenna for headless unit.

I intend to go without a head unit and use the carputer as one integrated unit.

I can put an internal amplifier inside the case for the speakers, but I am wondering what to do for the power antenna. For the others that do not use a head unit, how do they send a remote signal to the power antenna to turn it on and off?

A head unit has a single wire which connects to the power antenna and sends a signal to it to turn it on and off.

What would be acceptable to connect to the power antenna remote wire from the carputer? I was thinking either the HQCT usb radio or just connect the power antenna lead directly to one of the free molex connectors from the power supply (the ones that plug into a standard hard drive).

The problem with the HQCT radio is that I see no mention of anywhere to connect a power antenna, so I don't know if that would work or not.

Any suggestions?

have u figured this out yet? i have a similar question bout this, but running a complete carputer, how can i get it to turn on my car amplifiers?

Wire the antennae to one of your acc lines. Im tapping mine from my fuse box. This should be the same wire that gives the signal for your amp to turn on.

I have an idea... you can use the app that raises DTR http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/soft...r-powerup.htmlto trigger a relay that powers the antenna. From there if you are using RR as your front end, you can have that service start when you're using the radio then stop when you switch away from. That way it won't always be up. I hate the way they look.

GiODi, thats a little overkill. I'd stick with the same remote wire that triggers the amp, if not then the ACC wire is sutible. Just remember to use a relay and properly fuse it as well.
