Running all speakers off amp

Hi, I don't know much about installing headunits with amps, etc. I've got a Pyle PLDVD65IN in my truck. I'm trying to run all 4 of my door speakers off of an MTX RT404, 4-channel amp. I have an AV jack out of the HU in the audio/video output which then goes to a red and white RCA to the amp. I have no sound at my door speakers. I've tested and all of my connections are good. I have sound coming out of the headunit (I hooked up some headphones on the audio/video output and sound played through them fine). I'm confused as to why I don't have any sound. I had a friend try to install everything and I've had to go back and redo almost everything.

On the amp, I've got the two RCA's from the HU running to the sum out. On both of the RCA's, I have a few millivolts coming from them which fluctuates with the sound output from the headunit. Then on the other side, I've got the power, ground, and remote (all are good), and the four speakers in speaker terminals. Anyone know what I've done wrong?

Here's the amp: http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products...T202_RT404.pdf

Here's the headunit: http://www.pyleaudio.com/manuals/PLDVD65IN.pdf

Any help is appreciated. Thanks a lot, Bryan

Ok so the headunit has what 1 pair of preouts?
red and a white RCA output..?
that goes into amp? Get a Y splitter and then that will split your 2 channels output to 4 for input on the amp.
Then you put one pair into the front and the other into the rear inputs on amps.
one way to test your speaker connections are good is just jump them from the amps front channels to rear or whichever ones work.
get 2 of these

According to their website, that HU doesn't have an audio out. Only video?

Also, for audio, it should be labeled RCA outputs, not AV.

Maybe the outputs are only activated when you are playing a DVD?

I've never seen a head unit that doesn't advertise "Amplifier preouts," and I see no mention of them anywhere in that manual

I've also never seen a head unit that can play dvds that didn't come with preouts...so...I dunno

Thanks for the help. So I won't have ANY sound output from the amp unless I have both the front and rear inputs plugged in? Right now none of the speakers work. Thanks again for the help

If you can switch on the amp 2 or 4 channel then you should get some sound whether its front or rear.

ok on page 32 of the pyle manual it does state it provides 2 ch of audio output at 2volts.
So you should be getting stereo sound at the least even if you only use 2 ch input on the 4ch amp.

He said the amp has a switch that will allow it to run either 2ch or 4ch mode.
