Is there a way to use my headunit buttons on pc?

I want to control my WMP11 from my headunit. I got a GM cd changer with XM in my 2005 Chevy Colorado. I was wondering if anyone knows anything or anyway to do this because I'm to lazy to find a CD from my Firefly remote, and I hate opening my laptop to change tracks all the time. Thanks!

If you're too lazy to find a CD (or searcht eh 'net for the drivers) for your remote, then you're probably not going to have the motivatyion to hack up yourt headunit to get control of the PC with the buttons on teh stereo.

You never found that link, did you? Why? It's hard to find in the NavBar across the top of the forums, amongst a lot of other crap.

TELL MP3CAR YOU WANT A LINK TO THE FAQ IN A MORE OBVIOUS, NOTICABLE LOCATION HERE.

Are you wanting to keep the stock radio functional, or make it just look like the radio?

If you want to keep it, then yes but is more difficult.

If you are willing to hack it up, you can take the leads off the buttons, and wire them to a keyboard controller or something.

there is a device that you can hook up to your head unit and control the computer via usb connection. I forgot the name of the product but do a quick search and it should bring up some results.
